The registry is the part of your computer that keeps track of all the files on your computer. Whenever you spend time on the internet you are being exposed to spyware and adware that will eventually cause your computer to slow down and may ultimately require you to know how to clean up your registry. Different types of spyware do different things to a computer depending on its mission.

More often than not they want to keep track of what you are doing and then report back to the owner of the spyware what they have learned.
